drive me not

How's everyone doing? I was quite busy these past few days working on my learner's permit for driving and other stuff. I haven't been behind wheels my entire life (does Wii wheels count?). I'm used to having my dad (or somebody else) drive me before. Of course I always have the trusty metrocard or if not, I'll just hail a cab. Since I can live here without a car, I really didn't bother going to a driving school before. But now, circumstance is forcing me to go and get a license because I'll be working out of the city. It's exciting. It should be easy, right? It's not that I need to balance (a skill I don't have) or what. I have a mixed feeling about it. Please pray for those who will pass my way while I'm driving. =)

Moving on, I saw Giles Pre-Fall 2010 from WWD and just thought of sharing this to you. The collection has a fresh perspective of making everyday things grand.

I love how the garments are structured yet the soft draping gives every piece that perfect balance. My favorite is this fitted coatdress:

The bronze leather really oozes that edgy mysterious look with a little sultry touch.

Lastly, here's an overdue outfit. The hat and gloves really pop. I love playing with colors in winter. Why blend in if I can stand out? These photos show how I drown in the ocean of blacks.

Have great weekend everyone!

Oh my goodness, congrats on working to get your permit! You will do great -- getting lots of practice driving in helps. I think it's cool to live in a big city and not have to rely on a car --- can't really do that here in metro Atlanta because everything's so spread out.
Love your turquoise accessories!

Betz, good luck on your driving test. Hmmmm... that is coming from someone who CAN'T drive. Hahaha!

Love the pop of aqua in your outfit. Did you know that it is the color of the year?

hi betz,

you can do it! its very easy if you keep on practicing. i would suggest na since you're attending driver's ed, practice daan before ka adto para ma suweto naka. i didn't go to driving class but i took 70 hours practice and then decided to take the driving exam, and guess what? i failed three times! ouch! kulba man gud. anyway, if ever you are ready to take your test, don't be too nervous, it will affect you totally. i learned it in a hard way and i hope you will pass! driving your own is just amazing, you feel so independent and free.

i hope this help :)

love your hat and gloves!!

Goodluck on your driving! It's fun and sometimes therapeutic... well, in Manila, that's if you only drive around the village or out of town. Manila streets are... a bit too stressful to drive at! :))

Oh and I love the paperclips! :) Great photos!

I dont drive either lol. I'm really scared, that is why sometimes I wishes we live in a bigger city where I could just ride any public transportation. Too bad here I couldn't.

Anyway congrats on the new job. Love your outfit and yeah I agree with you, why blend in when u can stand out hihihi. U are sooo fab!!!

You are too funny!

Wow...it's hard for me to comprehend living without a car! But, of course, life in Atlanta revolves around driving. I live 40 miles from my job. A car is a necessity!

Let us know how it goes!

Hi Betz!

What a radical pre-fall collection ...

Good luck on your driving exam?! I'm praying that you pass it with flying colors.

You've changed jobs? Is it very far from home? I worry about long drives. It's one reason why the hubby moved us closer to my line of work ... the long drive just drove him (and me) bananas!

I love how you use the aqua colored accessories to finish your outfit. It just makes sense. You always look so polished!

good luck and you look adorable!

Love the color on those accessories. Driving is fun! You get to listen to music and sing out loud and nobody hears you so you can act really silly. :)

I was later than most getting my license because I didn't want to drive and I remember saying to my parents, "I'll just move somewhere where I don't NEED to drive." Well now, of course, I LOVE to drive!

Good luck with your driving!
It's so hard to remember color in the winter because of all the gray that comes with it, but I'm glad to see those bright blues!!

fab photos!

I'm almost 23 and dont drive! I did start to learn but it was costing me so much money, and where I live, everything is within walking distance or reachable by reasonably priced public transport, so I'll wait till it's truly needed!
