from Times Square with love

When you think of New York City, you  picture Times Square a.k.a "Crossroads of the World" in a flash. I read an article stating that this is the most visited place in the world having approximately 35 million visitors every year. So if you want to be alone, Times Square is obviously not for you.
Times Square is really not my favorite place in NYC. I just can't stand the crowd sometimes. Ironically, I always find myself there (I go to Times Square Church, that's why. It's not that I go there for downtime or something). I always end up drowning myself with all these people who never fail to amuse me just by mere observation.
But still, there's something about this place that I can never get enough of. Because one minute of standing there makes me fall in love with life. Seeing people from all walks of life and speaking different tongues to make this place alive is amazing.
Here's to the concrete jungle where dreams are made of!
Times Square celebrated the "Love Day" with a heart-shaped ice sculpture (more like bricks).
And when I walk there, I swear I could almost hear Alicia Keys sing "Now you're in New York!!! These streets will make you feel brand new, the lights will inspire you, Let's hear it for New York, New York, New York" (Ok, now I'm singing too!)
And oh, F21 in TS?! At last. After church I'm gonna be like "Lead me not into temptation, it's just a couple of blocks away!"
For the outfit...
There's really nothing grand about it. Just crazy pattern and layering.

****AWARDS****
I'm gonna quickly thank these lovely ladies who are so sweet to pass me an award. You all inspire me in ways that I will never ever forget. Do visit their blogs and be inspired too!

Thank you so much Jing of Jing Pinay for this award. Our high fashion friendship means the world to me girl.
I pass this award to:

How could I thank you enough, Sweet of Pens and Lens?! You truly are sweet. Your blog always make me smile.
I pass this award to:

Thanks a lot gorgeous Monique of Monique. This really made me happy. Your impeccable style is always inspiring.
See my post (and rules) of the award here.
I pass this award to:

Thank you, thank you, Marta of I Love My Wardrobe. You are such a wonderful person. You are beautiful inside and out. You got the wardrobe that makes every woman drool.
I pass this award to:

A million thanks Laura and Crista of Style, She Wrote. As I've said, receiving this from you means a lot to me. You are truly an inspiration. Your blog never fails to make my day.

And of course, to my dear soul sister, Nina of Ballerina's Closet Obsession, thank you so much for gracing me another award. There really is no one like you in sweetness (and everything).
Now to the seven random things that comes with this award:
1.I hate it when someone opens the door for me when I'm 20 ft away, because then I feel obligated to walk faster.
2.I have always wanted to get in a cab and say, "FOLLOW THAT CAR!!"
3.I hate it when someone else takes the piece of food I have mentally claimed.
4.I hate getting out of a hot shower. It's like the north pole invaded my house.
5.I grew up thinking Tweety Bird was a girl.
6. I flush the toilet with my foot in public bathrooms.
7. I'm tired of chain letters telling me when I'm going to die.

I pass this award to:

Till next time darlings! :)

I love that jacket on you!

And I totally agree - when I lived in NYC, I never really went to Times Square and even tried to avoid when I could. But whenever I had friends who came to visit, Times Square was one of those "must visit" places in the Manhattan tour.

And that Jay Z song is rocking non-stop in my head now.

Times Squre isn't my favorite place in NYC either. I can see the appeal if you're a tourist, but on TV it rarely looks as crowded and generic as it does when you're actually there. I tend to stumble upon it when I'm there, but my New Yorker friends try to avoid it ;-)

Congrats on the awards and lovely outfit!

Grumpy old man said...

Woow, that is a mouth full, congrats on all those awards, you certainly deserve everyone of them.

I had to laugh when I read your facts, flushing the toilet with your foot? I use toilet paper closing the door, flushing, and I never use the first piece of toilet paper, I first roll it down some, throw the first piece away, and then tear off a piece. I am so glad there is someone else feeling the same about public toilets. What really, really irks me is the fact that the outside doors of public toilets open to the inside, so after washing your hands, you have to use your now clean hand to open a filthy dirty door.

Sorry for hogging your comment box... thanks for leaving a sweet comment on my last post, I love having you on my site.

Hope your day is going to be great, and have a super weekend.
